Jesus sets us free from sin so that we can enter into an abundant life.
2 Kings 4: 43-44 “His attendant said, “What, will I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give them to the people that they may eat, for thus says the Lord, ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’” So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.”
This is a story in the Old Testament about how God miraculously multiplied bread to feed a hungry crowd. They ate and had some left over.
We are reminded by this story that God always gives more than enough. He blesses us more than we can contain. His blessings overflow.
The psalmist wrote in Psalm 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You [f]have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.”
When God blesses us the cup of our lives overflows. His provision surpasses our need. He does abundantly more than all that we ask or think is possible by the power of the Holy Spirit within us (Eph. 3:20).
Jesus sets us free from sin so that we can enter into an abundant life. It is a life of receiving from His hand daily, all that our souls need, to be satisfied deep within—and there is always an abundance—more than enough for each and every day.
As God’s children, we have the privilege of daily opening our hearts to God and letting Him set before us an abundant meal of grace and provision that will more than satisfy our souls.
Let us open our hearts to God. He is so good!
